The My Law Skills Job Guarantee:
Terms & Rationale
At My Law Skills, our mission is to eliminate the "experience gap" and get you into a permanent legal role as quickly as possible. Because our partner law firms reserve specific vacancies within their teams for our graduates, we maintain a "one-size-fits-all" model for our Job Guarantee. This ensures our partners have total confidence that every candidate we provide meets their rigorous hiring standards from Day 1.

To qualify for the Guaranteed Placement, candidates must meet the following four criteria:
1. Successful Course Completion
While we have a 100% confidence in our internal training methods, Law is a demanding and precise career. The guarantee is contingent on completing the content of the course in its entirety.

The Rationale: Our partner firms trust us to provide "desk-ready" talent. We need to ensure you have mastered the Case Management Systems and workflows required to handle files safely and efficiently. If during the course you find that this specific area of Law isn't the right fit for you, we will still provide career coaching, but we cannot mandate a placement.
2. London Based Residency
Candidates must be living in, or relocated to, Greater London by the final week of the course.

The Rationale: Starting a career in Law is intensive. Legal practice often involves critical deadlines where late nights are required to meet client needs. A two-hour commute on top of these professional demands is a recipe for burnout. We require our candidates to be within a reasonable commuting distance to ensure long-term career sustainability and peak performance for our partner firms.
3. Immediate Right to Work
(No Sponsorship Required)
Candidates must possess the right to work in the UK without the need for a sponsored Skilled Worker Visa.

The Rationale: Current UK Home Office regulations have significantly increased the minimum salary thresholds for visa sponsorship. These thresholds are often higher than the industry standard for entry-level paralegal and junior legal roles. To keep our "one-size-fits-all" model accessible to all partner firms—from boutique practices to large City firms—we cannot place a sponsorship financial burden on our partners.
4. Academic Legal Foundation
Candidates must hold a qualifying Law Degree (LLB), a GDL/Law Conversion, or an LLM.

The Rationale: Our 8-week bootcamp is focused on practical application. We assume a baseline level of legal literacy and "staying power." We want to ensure our students have already made a firm commitment to a career in Law before we invest in their practical training and guarantee their first role.
Why we have chosen these standards
I have selected these four pillars because your success is ultimately my success. By simplifying the hiring process and skipping the cycle of endless unpaid internships, I am asking law firms to trust my judgment. These requirements allow me to provide that trust. They ensure that every My Law Skills candidate falls perfectly in line with a firm’s established hiring processes, allowing you to get to work immediately.

If you do not meet all of the above criteria but still wish to join the course: I am always happy to teach an aspiring lawyer. If you have the drive to learn, you are welcome in our "sandbox." While I cannot extend the formal "Job Guarantee" to you, I will still provide full access to my network and personal connections, and I will do everything in my power to help any graduate of this course find their footing in the legal industry.
